Carrington Grand Walk is located within the Carrington Aged Care Retirement Village and provides a dominant visual axis, together with a pedestrian link, between the listed Carrington House and the newly developed Recreational Centre. The focal point of the walk, a 65m long rilled water feature constructed out of white granite and Sydney Sandstone, is nestled within the exposed concrete footpaths that connect the two buildings. Our scope of work included demolition, bulk earthworks, concrete substructures including underground pump room / holding tanks, insitu concrete and large format concrete paving, stonework, street furniture and softscape works. The Grand Walk comes alive at night, with an extensive lighting package installed inside the water feature, under the bridges, along the borders, stairs, throughout the trees and on Carrington house, illuminating the heritage stone features.
